Battle of Ganjgal Valley with MG Brown Introduction

Fascinating (and heart wrenching/frustrating) lessons learned video recreation of the Battle of Ganjgal Valley in 2009. An American Marine, Dakota Meyer and an American Army officer, William Swenson, received the Medal of Honor for their actions in this battle. Five Americans and eight Afghan National Army troops were killed.

The entire battle was a massive cock-up and illustrates many of the difficulties of modern war in an insurgent environment coupled with political pressure to change rules of engagement.  It's also a reminder of the important differences between the intentionally "balanced" game scenarios we play and how in the real world, events conspire to create very unbalanced and difficult situations.
